OVERVIEW

 

Diacon is an exciting three-year-old bay filly trained by leading Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker. Lightly raced, she has already recorded two wins from just six starts and has shown versatility and consistency throughout her short career.

She announced herself with an impressive maiden victory over 1100m at Gosford in November 2025 before stepping up to claim a Class 1 Handicap at Kembla Grange in June 2026. Her latest win highlighted her ability to perform against stronger opposition and suggests there is still plenty of upside to come as she progresses through the grades.

With Bjorn Baker's outstanding record of developing talented fillies and placing them to advantage, Diacon looks well positioned to continue her rise through metropolitan and provincial company.

PEDIGREE ANALYSIS

Diacon boasts an attractive pedigree combining speed, precocity and proven Australian bloodlines.

She is by Tassort, a Group 1-winning son of Brazen Beau who was renowned for his blistering speed and was considered one of the most naturally talented colts of his generation. Tassort's progeny have quickly earned a reputation for being athletic, forward types with early maturity and plenty of speed, making them highly sought after in the Australian racing market. Now the most successful son of I Am Invincible at stud, he has already sired 32 Stakes winners worldwide, including three Group 1 winners, making him one of Australia's most exciting young stallions.

On her dam side, Diacon is out of Sutton Forest, a daughter of champion sire Pierro. Pierro is one of Australia's elite stallions, producing top-class performers across a range of distances and renowned for passing on toughness, versatility and an exceptional will to win.

The Tassort and Pierro cross offers an appealing blend of natural speed and class. Tassort contributes explosive sprinting ability, while Pierro adds depth, durability and the capacity to train on. This pedigree profile suggests Diacon has the attributes to continue improving as she matures physically and gains further racing experience.
